Dan Leff

Originally from Chicago, Dan and his wife Sue moved to Raleigh with their two boys in 2003.  Once their boys went to college, they decided to buy a boat and move to Carolina beach. They discovered St. James by accident after visiting a friend in Oak Island. It didn’t take long for them to realize that everything they were looking for was in St. James.  They moved to their new home in April 2025 and couldn’t be happier.

Dan holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Arizona State University. His passion for real estate grew after purchasing his first investment property in downtown Chicago near Wrigley Field and then tearing it down to build a 3-story condo building.  

Their relocation from Chicago to Raleigh marked a turning point in Dan’s career, as he began working for companies focused on residential real estate opportunities in North Carolina. Over the past 20 years, Dan has specialized in residential real estate, focusing on single-family and multi-family acquisition and development including student housing and residential construction.  The past 5 years he has focused on residentialsingle-family developments as well as new ground up residential construction, teardown and rehab opportunities. During that time Dan helped over 25 families find their dream home in downtown Raleigh.

Dan is looking forward to bringing his wealth of experience, knowledge and passion for real estate to his clients.   

In his free time, Dan enjoys the amazing amenities that St. James has to offer including golfing with his wife, pickleball, boating and taking his Labrador buddy to the dog park.  Heenjoys DIY projects around the house as well as woodworking.
