Andy Speirs

Andy joined St. James Properties as a real estate agent after a wonderful experience purchasing a St. James home 2023. Andy is a senior cleared executive with 25+ years of leadership and innovation experience, a multi-industry background, and particular expertise in cybersecurity and healthcare IT.

Andy is a decorated veteran, having served in Operations Desert Shield and Storm as a Naval Flight Officer (NFO) and Mission Commander. One year after transitioning from active duty to civilian life, he missed the camaraderie and joined the Navy Reserves serving as a Navy Civil Engineer Corps (CEC) Officer (Seabees – Can Do!) in Brunswick, Maine. As cybersecurity started to really take off, Andy converged his civilian leadership and cyber skills with the opportunity in 2001 to serve the Army National Guard training 54 states & territories on tactical and technical Information Operations (IO). Andy retired from the Army in 2009. He also is a former Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) in the financial services industry with an extensive private sector career and led large scale strategy and delivery of cyber capabilities for Departments of Veterans Affairs (VA) and Homeland Security (DHS).

When not selling fine properties, Andy enjoys RV’ing, hanging out at the beach with family & friends, helping UNC-W with their emerging cyber program and getting back into golfing. Andy and his wife Sheri have two daughters – oldest in Arlington, VA and the youngest in San Diego, CA. Andy, Sheri and their yellow lab Tess love the Southport community!
