Dream and Legacy
I want everyone to have fun; you deserve some fun in this life. The truth is our residents really enjoy it here. And that’s the biggest reward I can get.
I found that distance from your friends, distance from your relatives,
the language barrier, the hospital care — there were just too many
negatives with some of those places.
“I read the book called “Acres of Diamonds” and it talked about how you can
search worldwide to find things and oftentimes they are right around you, right
underneath your feet. I had a friend who had done surveying work for me in
Eden, NC, and he called me and said I should look at this area…“The weather
was great … so I came back again and again and again, every couple of weeks,”
he said. “Then I saw this tract of land from my friend’s house.
I said, “Well, who owns that tract?”
With Homer’s calculated purchases, tons of hard work and a
commitment to keep his promises, his development has become a

North Carolina history, even though he would sheepishly
say to this day “I’m no big deal.”
